The BIG Night

*Rules - The Big Night is awarded each night of the NHL regular season.  The Big Night is only awarded when a player has at least 3 points and not when more than two different players tie for the Big Night at 3 points.  Ties are broken by more goals.  So if 10 players had 3 points on the same night, but only one had a Hat Trick, that player would win the Big Night.

Big Team Night (17) - Mentioned any time a team has a 12+ point night.  The All time NHLP record is 17 and it took 20 NHLP seasons to occur for the first time.  Just days after becoming the first GM to hit 15 points in one night, GM Jr topped himself with 17 in one night.  To make this even more amazing was it was a playoff night where Jr's New Jersey Devils got some very balanced scoring.  Kovalchuk 3, Zetterberg 3, Elias 3, Elias 3, Filppula 3 and Kronwall 2 for 17.  GM Jr in Dallas held the record after four point games from Henrik Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin and 3 from Bieska for a total of 15 for a night.

Big GM Night (4 Teams of 6) (34, 1.42 Points Per Player) - The record for most points on all four teams in one night is 34 and GM's getting 30+ on a given night are recognized for such a great feat.  (GM Scott had a 34 point night December 9, 2006 the same night his Oil scored 14.  That is like almost four teams getting 9 points (actually 8.5) each the same night or in this case, 14-8-6-6.)

Big GM Night (4 Teams of 7) (32, 1.14 Points Per Player) - The record for most points on all four teams in one night is 34 but a new record for four teams of 7 players is 32, Set by GM Andrew December 22nd, 2018 on a 10-8-8-6.  Any GM getting 30 or more is recognized.

Big GM Night (3 Teams of 7 Players) - (28, 1.33 Points Per Player)

March 10/13 - GM Chad had a 1.33 Points Per Team on a 13-10-5 shattering historical marks in the NHLP.  Chad also became the first GM in league history to have two teams hit double digits in the same night.

November 4/23 - GM Shawn had a 16-7-5 tying GM Chad with a 28 point night.

All teams who hit 27+ get mentioned.

Big GM Night (2 Teams of 7 Players) - No one hit 20!

Big Team Week (38 - 7 Player Team or 5.42 PPG) - March 24th, 2024 - GM Marcel in Montreal had a 38 point week, with his 7 player team, or 5.42 per player.  No NHLP team ever had a 38 point week.  For Marcel his teams scoring came the way of Kucerov 9, Tavares 8, Kempe 7, Kyrou 6, Geekie 3, Dubois 3 and Hedman with 2.

Big Team Week (37 - 6 player team or 6.16 PPG) - A very rare NHLP occurrence is when one team gets 30+ points in a week.  It is very tough to accomplish and only done a few times each NHLP season.  The Yearbook does mention all teams who hit 30.  (We have determined that when Halifax, GM Shawn hit 37 in 2008-09, it had to have been a record.  Earlier in that week, he had his 14 point night.  His week, Henrik Sedin had 9, Daniel Sedin 8, Tanguay 8, Markov 5, Laich 4 and Pavelski 3. Amazing!)

Big GM Week (3 Teams of 7 Players) (83) - March 11th, 2013 - GM Chad hit a 30-30-23, the first GM in league history to have two 30 point teams in the same week, Pittsburgh and Colorado.  He also had two 10 point teams, a 13-10, in the same night, a feat never before accomplished.  Mention anytime GM has a 75 point week.

Big Team Month (121) - April 2022 - GM Marcel in Montreal - Kucherov 31, Fiala 24, Thomas 24, O'Reilly 15, Kopitar 10, Carter 8 and Teravainen 9.  Mentioned anytime a team has 100 in a month  Teams with a Waiver in the month do not count officially.

Montreal (Marcel) - 107 - December 2022 - McDavid 31, E. Lindholm 18, Kyrou 17, R. Smith 12, R. Andersson 11, W. Karlsson 10, Bratt 8

New Orleans (Shawn) - 105 - November 2023 - Kucherov 28, Q. Hughes 22, Hedman 15, Headman 15, Kreider 12, O'Reilly 12, Kotkaniemi 5

Dallas (Jr) 102 - December 2011 - Henrik Sedin led the team with 22 points, followed by Parenteau 16, Spezza 15, Ray Whitney 15, Weber 13, Eberle 13, and Plekanec 8.

Memorable Nights in 2023/24

GM Chad (March 31st, 2024) GM Chad in Pittsburgh BIG TEAM MONTH - Pens Reach 102 - The Pittsburgh Penguins can score.  GM Chad had one of the bigger NHLP months, reaching over 100 points.  Panarin had 25 to lead the performance while 19 point months were had by both Bouchard and Benn.  Fox added 17, Hymen 13 while Bennett had 5 and Perry 4.  The all-time NHLP record is held by GM Marcel in Montreal with a 121 scored in April of 2022 (102)

Gm Marcel (March 24th, 2024) GM Marcel BIG GM WEEK - Oh So Close - GM Marcel flirted with GM Chads 30-30-23 (83) point NHLP record for GM scoring in a single week.  Marcel set the NHLP record for points by a team in a week with Montreal reaching 38, ending with a three team week of 38-26-17 (81) just two off the att-time record. (81)

GM Marcel (March 24th, 2024) GM Marcel in Montreal BIG TEAM WEEK - Biggest Week in 34 NHLP Seasons - For the past 17 years GM Shawn held the biggest week in NHLP history with his amazing 37 points in Halifax.  That week Shawn's 6 player team was Henrik Sedin 9, Daniel Sedin 8, Tanguay 8, Markov 5, Laich 4 and Pavelski 3. Now that record will still stand, but has been broken.  It will still stand for the most average points per player in a week at 6.16 and of course for a team of 6 players.  GM Marcel in Montreal had a 38 point week, with his 7 player team, or 5.42 per player.  No NHLP team ever had a 38 point week.  For Marcel his teams scoring came the way of Kucerov 9, Tavares 8, Kempe 7, Kyrou 6, Geekie 3, Dubois 3 and Hedman with 2. (38)

GM Marcel (March 19th, 2024) GM Marcel BIG GM NIGHT - GM Marcel Flirts with Record - GM's have been all around the elusive 29 points in a night between their three teams of 7 players.  Tonight GM Marcel tied a career best 14 points in Montreal, while adding 8 in Alaska and 5 in Florida for a 14-8-5 - 27 points on the night.  No team has reached 29 while GM's Chad and Shawn have hit the 28. (27)

GM Marcel (March 19th, 2024) in Montreal BIG TEAM NIGHT - Three 14's for GM Marcel - GM Marcel became the first GM in league history to have three different teams hit 14+ on a night, tying a career igh in points in the process. Alaska in 2021-22 was the first time the GM hit 14 on a night, then doing the feat twice this season.  Florida had a 14 on December 21st and tonight Montreal hits 14, a franchise best.  Only 15 teams have ever hit 14+ on a night with Marcel now having done it three times, tying GM Shawn for the most ever in this category. Kucherov had 4, Tavares and Kempe 3 each and Geekie and Dubois added a pair apiece for the 14.  Both Kyrou and Hedman played but didn't get a point which could have made this a career night for the GM.  (14)

GM Jr (February 26th, 2024) in Memphis BIG TEAM WEEK - Kaprozov Unstoppable Week - Kaprizov was getting it done in a big way with 12 points for GM Jr's Memphis Machine.  The fourth place Machine could use the points and a 31 is the second highest week on the season and just fourth team to reach 30 in a week this season.  Morrissey added 9, Larkin and Pavelski 3, Niederreiter 2 and Danault and Burns a point each.  (31)

GM Ryan (February 19th, 2024) in NY Islanders BIG TEAM NIGHT - Eriksson Ek Big 6 Point Night - Well it sure makes getting to 12+ when one player has a six point night.  GM Ryan had his first 12+ point night since 2012-13 when his Islanders team hit 12 thanks in part to Eriksson Ek's 6 point game.  Others scoring were Zuccarello with 4 and Connor with 2.  Mercer and Reinhart did not play and the teams two others did not play. The GM who has a career high 13 now has his fifth 12+, with his Islanders doing it three times now.  (12)

GM Andrew (February 15th) in Hartford BIG TEAM NIGHT - Fox Gets Four - The Hartford Whalers became only the second team in NHLP history to have at least four different 12+ point nights, only hehind the uncatchable New Orleans team of GM Shawn.  Tonight Fox led the way with 4 points while Matthews and Krieder added 3 apiece.  The singles went to Byfield and Byfield.  Barzal and Couture did not play. (12)

GM Shawn (January 18th, 2024) in New Orleands BIG TEAM NIGHT - Future Cup Champions? - With another 12+ point night, their 5th such night this season, there is little doubt the New Orleans Wolverines can score.  Tonight it was Hedman and Hedman with 4 points each, Kucherov 3, Duchene 1 and zeros went to playing players Rantanen and Lindell.  E. Karlsson did not play.  If GM Shawn keeps his Tampa Bay players and they make a run to the Cup Finals, it might be an unstppable team.  However, if that is the case this team could still potentially penalty out by the NHLP rules.  So what GM Shawn does with his points, or how he manages this crazy amount of points will be fun to watch in the second half of the 2023-24 NHLP season. (12)

GM AJ (December 29th, 2023) in Cleveland BIG TEAM NIGHT - Flurry of Points for Fury - Less then two weeks after Cleveland had a 12 point night the high scoring Fury were at it again, putting up an additional 12. Brothers Jack and Luke Hughes put of 3 each as did Rielly, Verhaeghe added 2 and a single went to Domi.  Seguin did not point while Fiala didn't play on the night.  The second year GM is 55 points up on 5th in the South Division and time will tell if he has learned anything in the NHLP yet, about building a winning team.  So far he has the points to improve but will he be able to turn those points into assets and is a 12 point night the best we'll see this year in Cleveland. (12)

GM Charlie (December 27th, 2023) in Miami BIG TEAM NIGHT - How Special This Wasn't - Now entering the 11th year of round the clock filming at the Miami Surf head office, the Netflix series of the Surf which is set to release in 2050 should have had some of their most exciting footage ever last evening. Back in 2018-19 the Surf had an incredible 10 point night but the camera crew had gone home early the night before and completely missed it.   After that debacle there were changes made so this would never happen again during the season and playoffs.  "We are there every step of the way towards Miami building an eventual Cup winning team" state a producer.  However, with the Holiday break the crew couldn't get into Miami back from holidays yesterday due to the storms and completely missed all footage of the event, another crushing blow to the series.  This was the first time ever the Surf had a 12 point night.  "We are hoping GM Charlie took some home videos or selfies we could use" said a Netflix producer.  The Surf had 6 points from Letang, 3 from Guentzel, 2 each from DeBrincat and Tarasenko and Stone added the career-high tying 14th point.  Crosby and N. Robertson didn't point as the Surf became only the 14th NHLP team ever to hit+ and incredibly after 6120 hockey nights as an NHLP franchise the Surf finally had a 12+ point night.  "Its a crushing blow to have no footage of this, like it never occurred' the producer said.  On December 1st the crew did get some awesome footage.  In the captured scene Charlie is typing in his injury transaction, dropping Backstrom and adding N. Robertson.  "Click.  Send" the GM says as you can hear in the background a roar of excitement and someone saying, "Did we get that".  To see a GM making an official transaction live, something the crew hasn't seen a lot.  "We are hoping they don't trade the Waiver this year" a camera man told the NHLP Yearbook.  The series is going to be fantastic when released it is just so unfortunate there was no footage of the BIG TEAM NIGHT.  "We simply can't get everything over an 11 year period, but we are sure more amazing things will be captured in the coming years" the producer added. (14)

GM Shawn (December 21st, 2023) in New Orleans BIG TEAM NIGHT - Surprise!!! Wolverines 13 - For the fourth time this season GM Shawn has had a night 12+ in New Orleans.  The team can undoubtedly score at will.  Kucherov, Hedman and Hedman had 3 points each while Rantanen and Duchene added 2 each.  E. Karlsson and Kotkamiemi shockingly didn't score a point on a team with 220 NHLP points, 100 points ahead of 5th place in their division.  How strong is this team?  That remains the sole question, as the team isn't loaded with currently playoff players.  There is no shortage of potential but how GM Shawn plays his cards will say if this becomes one of the most dominate teams in leagues history. (13)

GM Marcel (December 21st, 2023) in Florida BIG TEAM NIGHT - GM Marcel Ties Career High - For the second time in his career GM Marcel hit the 14 point mark, becoming only the league's 13th team to reach that plateau.  MacKinnon led the night with a four goal and assists, 5 point night and also became the first ever Avalanche to have 4 goals in a game. Keller and Skinner added 3 each, Suzuki 2 and miller added a single.  Bunting and Rodrigues both played but didn't add to the total which was a mere 3 off GM Jr's 17. (14)

The Truest Big Nights Ever - When GM Ian's Bruins had a 12 point night in the NHLP in 1994, almost 30 seasons ago, it jumped out at the time as an unheard of night.  Some 30 years later, there has only ever been two nights better and just three that can compare.  Ian's 12 was done with 5 players, or 2.4 points per player. When Jr became the second GM to accomplish the feat in Calgary in 1999-2000 the NHLP was still with 5 players per team, so another night of 2.4 points per player.  It would not be until "The Week" in April of 2010 that the NHLP would see a third and fourth team set the mark for the biggest night in NHLP history for points per player.  On April 10th, 2010, Dallas got 4 from each Henrik, Henrik and Daniel Sedin and 3 from Bieska for a 15 point night, from just 6 players, or the first ever 2.5 points per player.  Demitra played but did not point and Schneider was injured.  This was the first team ever to cross over 2.5 points per player in a night, but it wouldn't hold the week.  On April 17th, 2010, just 7 days later, GM Jr's Devils hit 17 points, in the playoffs no less for the NHLP's all-time record of 2.83 points per player, the only team in history to have over 2.5 points per player in a single night.  That night Jr had 5 players all get 3 points each, Kovalchuk, Zetterberg, Elias, Elias and Filppula while Kronwall finished with 2.  In 34 NHLP seasons, Ian's night and Jr's three different nights from three different teams, are the only four nights ever to see a team get 2.4 points per player or better. Starting next season the NHLP is retiring the 12 point night, which with 7 players works to 1.71 points per player on a night.  Rare still, but the feat must be higher.  So starting next season a team must have 2 points per player or 14 points to get noticed, something after GM Marcel did it last night, has only been done 13 times in 34 seasons.

GM AJ (December 16th, 2023) - GM AJ BIG GM NIGHT - AJ Has Career Night With 12, Misses NHLP Record - GM AJ had a huge 27 point night on a 12-10-5, hitting his first ever 12 point night and just missing tying the all-time NHLP mark of 28 points in a night of three teams of seven players.  The 12 in Cleveland was their second, with GM Tyson accomplishing the feat as the GM, and AJ's first as an NHLP GM.  Jack Hughes, Verhaeghe and Domi all had 3 point nights and singles went to Fiala, M. Rielly and Seguin, while Luke Hughes was held pointless. (27)

GM AJ (December 16th, 2023) - in Cleveland BIG TEAM NIGHT - AJ Has Career Night With 12, Misses NHLP Record - GM AJ had a huge 27 point night on a 12-10-5, hitting his first ever 12 point night and just missing tying the all-time NHLP mark of 28 points in a night of three teams of seven players. (12)

GM Shawn (November 24th, 2023) - in New Orleans BIG TEAM NIGHT - At It Again - New Orleans has had a 12, 14 and 16 point night for GM Shawn all in the month of November.  This time Kucherov went off on Black Friday with a career high 6 point night, half of the Wolverines number.  What this team is going this season in the scoring category is seldom seen in the NHLP.  Their 159 points is over double what four teams currently have including the GM's Halifax team with 79.  The team is 82 points up on fifth in the South Division.  New Orleans has 94 points with a full week left in the month, 27 points behind GM Marcel's all-time mark of 121.  Kucherov was on Marcel's Montreal team that month and recorded 31 points.  He leads the Wolverines with 24 this month with three games to play. It will be interesting to see what New Orleans does with their points, as they must come off Tampa Bay with Kucerov, Hedman and Hedman, or they won't have much impact with their points this season.  When the GM decides he is going to build around another team, points will fly and the GM will be the leagues attention grabber being able to move a record number of points this season. (12)

GM's Shawn, Marcel & Charlie (November 13th, 2023) - in New Orleans, Florida and NY Rangers - BIG TEAM WEEKS - Huge Week of Scoring - A 30 point week is a hard thing to accomplish.  The most points ever scored in a week by one team was GM Shawn's 37 in 2008-09 by Halifax.  So any team crossing 30 in a week is close to that insane-paced mark.  It likely surprises no one to hear New Orleans had a 32 this week, however, GM Shawn's team was almost not the highest scoring team with Florida (Marcel) at 31 and GM Charlie's NY Rangers team at 30.  That shows how high the week was to see three teams all reading the mark in the same week.  Not surprisingly is the teams also rank 1-2-3 in overall NHLP scoring with New Orleans and Florida crossing over 100 season points this week while the Rangers are next in line at 98. The three, in the same order again are the lone three teams averaging over a PPG on the season with New Orleans running at an insane 1.17.  Usually by season's end if an NHLP team can have 7 playoff players and average over 0.8, it is one of the better scoring playoff teams in the first round of the playoffs, a feat that isn't exactly easy to pull off.  Often high scoring NHLP teams are deceptive, as they aren't very good NHLP teams, as they are usually led by bottom feeders and that GM's must trade at some point.  These three teams do have playoff players as their top scoring player, meaning they have great potential to build strong teams. (32-31-30)

GM Scott (November 11th, 2023) in Philadelphia GM Scott BIG TEAM NIGHT - Career High Blows GM Away - As the 12+ point night becomes more irrelevent with 67 teams now having accomplished the feat in 34 NHLP seasons, don't tell GM Scott his career high 15 didn't mean anything.  "I have been in this league for over 6000 nights of hockey and I had never hit a 15 point night, it is special" said the GM about the magical night in Philadelphia.  The Flyer had their third ever 12+, the GM's eight thanks to Thomas having 4, Buchneivich and Cooley added 3 each, Stuetzle and Novak added two each and Konecny added the 15th and final point.  Heiskanen did play but also didn't bring anything to the career night but a "Go Team".  The Flyer became the 5th ever team, followed just a week after New Orleans (Shawn) became the 4th to have a 15+ point night.  The NHLP record now seems more and more likely to fall, but still is held by New Jersey (Jr) at 17. (15)

GM Shawn (November 7th, 2023) in New Orleans GM Shawn BIG TEAM NIGHT - Continued Craziness - New Orleans is having quite an incredible run.  Coming off a 16 point night the team follows it right up immediately with a 14, of which only four teams ever had more, and the GM only had 4 players playing on the team.  Kucherov and Hughes had 4 each while Hedman and Hedman added 3 apiece.  The 12+ is GM Shawn's 8th ever such night, tying Marcel for the race to a dozen.  The Wolverines just hit 16 on Saturday a night when Hughes was the lone player not to score, although the team's top scorer. Quinn Hughes is now tied with his brother, and Kucherov for second overall in NHL totals with 20, behind only Pettersson. (14)

GM Shawn (November 4th, 2023) GM Shawn BIG GM NIGHT - A 28 Flirts With History - GM Chad has some company.  GM Shawn had a 16-7-5 point night to tie a league record of 28 points in a night with 3 teams of 7 players.  Previously GM Chad had this record with his 13-10-5 a decade ago in 2013.  For Shawn he now shares with Chad a 1.33 Points Per Player record for the most in the 3 teams of 7 era.  GM Scott had a 1.42 Points Per Game, a 34 point night with 4 teams of 6 players in 2006, still known as the single best GM night per the PPG.  No GM has hit 30 in the 3-7 era but it seasons that day is nearing.  If a team does hit 30 with the current 3-7, that would be 1.43, the all time record. (28)

GM Shawn (November 4th, 2023) - in New Orleans GM Shawn BIG TEAM NIGHT - Career Night for GM Shawn - GM Shawn was flirting with history in an exciting and high-scoring night in the NHLP.  New Orleans ended a single point away from GM Jr's New Jersey Devils 17 point night and one more to break GM Chad's record for points in a night with 3 teams of 7 players.  For Shawn everything has been working in New Orleans, a team on pace for 643 points thanks to the NHLP's Stats Department. The Wolverines also became the first team in league history to have four 12+ nights.  The GM has done it 7 times.  Recently the NHLP Yearbook had reported GM Jr became the first GM to have a 12+ on four different teams, but fans of GM Shawn quickly pointed out that Shawn had already done that with New Orleans, Halifax, Detroit and Seattle. With New Orleans 16 it is officially the second highest night ever, behind Jr's 17, but leaves only 4 teams to hit 15+ with Dallas (Jr) and Los Angeles (Andrew) having 15 point nights.  Kucherov had 5, O'Reilly 4, Hedman, Kotkaniemi and Hedman each had two points while Kreider rounded out the 16.  Quinn Hughes, the team's leading scorer starting the night, played but did not point. (16)

GM Bryce (November 4th, 2023) - in Portland GM Bryce BIG TEAM NIGHT - Portland and GM Bryce Record Firsts - The Portland Winter Hawks have two NHLP Championships, one with GM Bryce, but the franchise never had a 12+ point night in NHLP history.  Either had Bryce.  The GM hit his career high in his 5th NHLP season as a GM and now leaving only four NHLP teams to never record a 12+.  The GM's other team Las Vegas with two Cups, Chicago (Andrew) with two Cups join Cincinnati (Matt) and Miami (Charlie) as the lone teams never achieving the feat.  Reilly Smith and Point had 4 point nights, Horvat 2 and Marchessault and Cirelli adding singles.  Both Miller and Barbashev played but did not score in what could have been something even higher than 12. (12)

GM Jr (October 24, 2023) - in Memphis GM Jr BIG TEAM NIGHT - Memphis Gets First Ever 12- GM Jr had quite the night.  On a night when the NHL had 16 games and called it the "Frozen Frenzy", just the second time in league history all teams in the now 32 team league played, it was bound the see something also occur in the NHLP.  Jr came within a single point of tying GM Chad for the most points ever in a night with 3 teams of 7 players.  Chads record was 28 and Jr's three teams hit 27 on a 12-11-4 night.  It was only the third time in league history a GM had two teams of 10+, with Chad's 28 point night being a 13-10-5.  GM Charlie had a 10-10-7 for 27 on April 8, 2023, the first ever night the NHL played 16 games and 32 teams played.  Adding to the night was Memphis finally hitting a 12 point night for the first time in Franchise history, leaving just 5 teams to have never accomplish the feat.  For Jr it was his 6 ever 12+ point night.  Jr is now the one of only two GMs in league history to have a 12+ point night on four different teams, previously having done it twice in Calgary and Dallas and once in New Jersey. GM Shawn has also done the feat with New Orleans, Halifax, Detroit and Seattle.  The Memphis night could have been much bigger with only 4 of the 7 players playing actually getting any points.  Hartman led the way with 5, Kaprizov and Larkin added 3 and Pavelski added the 12th point.  Burns, Morrissey and Werenski all enjoyed donuts. Memphis is lighting up the NHLP in scoring, having the most points at 27 last week and starting this week off even better.  (12)

GM Jr (October 24, 2023) - GM Jr BIG GM NIGHT - Historic Night for GM Jr - GM Jr had quite the night. Jr is now the only GM in league history to have a 12+ point night on four different teams, previously having done it twice in Calgary and Dallas and once in New Jersey. (27) 12-11-4

GM Marcel (October 22, 2023) - in Florida GM Marcel BIG TEAM NIGHT - Marcel Does it An 8th Time - GM Marcel has been an NHLP GM 29 season and tonight he become the first GM ever to have his eight 12+ point night.  Florida hit the mark for the second time.  Alaska and Montreal have had three 12+ point nights each and no team has ever done the feat a fourth time. Current NHLP teams Cincinnati, Chicago, Las Vegas, Memphis, Miami and Portland, teams that have won a combined total of 7 NHLP Cups, between them have never had a 12+ point night. All 7 of Marcel's players got a point tonight and no one had more than two.  MacKinnon, JT Miller, Skinner, Suzuki and Rodriques all had two each while Keller and Bunting added singles.  Florida is one of only two teams who ever had a 12+ point night the same year they won the NHLP Cup, doing it in 2007-08.  Philadelphia (Scott) had done it in 2005-06.  Florida is now in first in the South Division, 17 points up on 5th place. (12)

Memorable Nights in 2022/23

GM Charlie (April 8th, 2023) - GM Charlie BIG GM NIGHT - One Off All Time Record For GM Charlie - GM Charlie became only the second GM in NHLP history to have two teams have a 10+ point night, hitting a 10-10-7 for 27, just one off the record for 3 Teams of 7 Players, held by GM Chads 28 10 years ago in 2013.  The all-time record of 34 points in a night by GM Scott (14-8-6-6) when he averaged 1.42 Points Per Player, ahead of the 1.33 PPP by GM Chad the night he had a 13-10-5.  This was the first night in NHL history all 32 teams in the league each played, 16 total games. (27) 10-10-7

GM Chad (April 1st, 2023) - in Pittsburgh BIG TEAM NIGHT - Pittsburgh 13 Point Night No April Fools Joke - There is a change GM Chad's Pittsburgh Penguins penalty out of the NHLP playoffs, but the GM also showed the league just the potential damage he can do if he gets the team in.  With a career-tying biggest night in his history Chadwick his 13 points, the fifth time he has reached 12+.  Only 23 times has a team ever hit 13+ and no GM has done it more times than Chad who has four 13 point nights with only one night of 12 in his career.  Verhaeghe and Verhaeghe each had 4 point nights while Barkov added 3 for 11 points from just his Florida players.  Compher and Compher added a point each while W. Johnston and Berniers played but did not point. (13)

GM Chad - (March 20th, 2023) - In Toronto BIG TEAM WEEK - Three Teams Reach 30 in High scoring week - The league saw 3 teams all reach 30+ in the highest scoring week of the season.  GM Chad did it thanks to an 8 point week from Heiskanen, 6 from Hagel, 5 from Nichuskin and Sergachev, 4 from Eichel and Hintz had 3.  Kadri did not have a point.  This is the 4th 30+ for Chad in the past 15 seasons with a high of 33 in 2021-22 (31)

GM Ryan (March 20th, 2023) - In Green Bay BIG TEAM WEEK - Green Bay Hits 30 for GM's First in 15 Years - In the past 15 season below, GM Ryan never had a 30 point week.  Green Bay had 31 thanks to Rantanen with 7, Marchand 6, Nichushkin and DeBrusk 5, R. Smith 4 and both Danault and Cirelli had 2 each.  Ryan was the 7th different GM to have 30+ on the season and part of three GM's (Chad and Joel) who had 30+ this past week. (31)

GM Joel (March 30th, 2023) - in Barrie Island BIG TEAM WEEK - Joel Hits 30+ First Time in Decade - It was 2012-13 the last time GM Joel had a 30+ point week.  Trocheck had 7, Marner and Marchand 6 apiece, Fox and E. Kane 4 each, Bouchard had 2 and Wheeler 1 for the 30 point week, one of three GM's to do it this week alone (Chad and Ryan) (30)

GM Charlie - (February 18th, 2023) - in NY Rangers BIG TEAM NIGHT - Rangers Career Night - For the second time in his 23 years stint as a GM, Charlie has eclipsed the 13 point night. GM's Chad and Marcel are the only GM's to have three 13+ point nights.  The feat is harder to do than win an NHLP Championship, that having been done 32 times and only 21 times has a GM ever hit 13+.  GM's Andrew, Scott and Jr, a combined 15 NHLP Cups have only accomplished 13+, 5 times between the three of them.  It was the third time the Rangers hit 12+ and their biggest single night total in the franchises history who have never missed an NHLP season.  Hischier led the way with 4 points, Theodore 3 while Matthews, Malkin and McAvoy all had 2 each.  Fox and Pavelski played but did not point. (13)

GM Andrew - (February 11th, 2023) - in Hartford BIG TEAM NIGHT - Hartford Does It Again - Six NHLP teams have now recorded a BIG TEAM NIGHT for a third time.  The 13 points Hartford hit on the night were their biggest ever night, previously hitting 12 twice.  For GM Andrew it is his 6 ever BIG TEAM NIGHT, one behind GM's Scott and Marcel who have both done it 7 times.  Andrew has had a 15 and a 14 point night.  Hartfords 13 came by 4 from Schmaltz, MacKinnon 3, Kadri and Hymen 2 apeice while singles went to Teravainen and Horvat.  Makar was injured and did not play. (13)

GM AJ - (January 16th, 2023) - in Cleveland BIG TEAM WEEK - AJ On the Board with 30 - GM AJ had a his first ever Big Night, hitting 30 points this week in Cleveland.  The Fury are finding their grove with all players contributing since the return of Ehlers who had 6 this week along with Perfetti.  Fiala had 5, Connor 4, Tatar, Hyman and Sharangovich added 3 each for the 30. (30)

GM Marcel - (December 31st, 2022) - in Montreal BIG TEAM MONTH - McDavid Leads Habs Huge Month - Montreal now has the two official biggest months in NHLP history and GM Marcel did them both in the same year.  This past April, thanks to Kucherov's 31 point month Marcel's Habs smashed the previous record for points in a month without a Waiver of 102 by GM Jr in Dallas back in 2011.  With scoring up across the NHL it seemed we'd see 100+ at some point this season.  Well in one of the shortest months of the season for hockey nights the Habs did it thanks to another 31 point night, this time by McDavid. The rest of the 107 came by months of E. Lindholm 18, Kyrou 17, R. Smith 12, R. Andersson 11, W. Karlsson 10, and Bratt 8.  "Clearly it is a hard feat to pull off" said Muddy Capone, "All 7 players averaging about 15 points each, or better than a point a game, for the entire month isn't easy."  Well it isn't easy and even with a 31 point month by McDavid, Marcel was still only at 107, just a mere 7 points above the thriple digit mark.  Montreal is now 74 points up on 5th place in the East Division with McDavid 72 points and having over double the points of the next closet player on the team.

GM Marcel - (December 19th, 2022) - in Montreal  BIG TEAM WEEK - Montreal Keeps Scoring - It likely isn't a surprise for GM Marcel to hit 30 points in Montreal.  Afterall, McDavid just can't be stopped.  With McDavids 8, Kyrou and R. Smith 6 each, Lindholm 5, W. Karlsson 4, R. Andresson a single and Bratt did not point in the 30 point week.  This is the third time a team has cracked 30 in a week, the most since 2012-13 season when it was done 5 times.  30

GM Shawn - (December 13th, 2022) - in New Orleans BIG TEAM NIGHT - Wolverines Join Elite Group - Nwe Orleans became just the fifth NHLP team to have a 12+ point night three different times.  No team has ever did it four times.  All three of the Wolverines Big Nights have be 12 point nights (2005-06, 2019-20 and 2022-23).  Stephensson had 4, Kucherov 3, Marchessault and Colton 2 while a single went to Johansen/  Iafallo had zero and Trocheck did not play.  The 12 was also GM Shawns sixth all time, only one behind seven timers GM's Scott and Marcel. 12

GM Andrew - (November 21st, 2022) - in Los Angeles BIG TEAM WEEK - Kings Have 30 Point Week - A high scoring week in the NHL led to some big weeks.  GM Andrew hit 30 and is getting balanced scoring top to bottom of the lineup.  Buchnevich who had four in total coming into this week, led the attack with 7, Gaudreau and Lindholm had 6 each, Arvidsson 5, Meier 3, Hoffman 2 and Strome a single.  The Kings had not had a 30 point week in the last 15 years while in that time Andrew had done it with both Chicago and Hartford one time each. - 30

GM Charlie - (November 9th, 2022) - GM Charlie  BIG GM NIGHT - Charlie Has Memorable Night - Since the NHLP went to three teams of seven players, now in season 13 of the format, only one night has ever been better.  GM Charlie pounded out a 12-8-7 for 27 points on the night, just a point behind the 2013 night by GM Chad who's 13-10-5 and 1.33 PPG is considered the second highest scoring night in league history, only behind the 1.42 PPG by GM Scott in 2006 with a four teams of six players 14-8-6-6 for 34.  Over the past 13 seasons Charlies night is rare with only 4 GM's reaching 27, about once every three seasons.  Over that same time only eight teams have reached 25, done by only 5 GM's (Chad, Marcel, Shawn, Andrew and now Charlie).  - 27

Nights of 25+ (3 teams of 7 Players) in 13 Seasons

GM Chad (28) - March 2013 13-10-5

GM Charlie (27) - November 19/22 - 12-8-7

GM Marcel (27) - April 17/22 - 14-7-6

GM Shawn (27) - October 9/14 - Recording 27 points from his tree teams (10-9-8) for the second highest average 'Points Per Team' night in league history at 9.00, only behind GM Chad's 28 point 9.33 night (13-10-5) on March 10th, 2013.  The night however accomplished a rare feat, an NHLP first.  GM Shawn became the first GM in league history to have all three teams hit 8+ points on the same night.

GM Marcel (26) - March 27/22 - Had a 11-9-6 for a 26

GM Andrew (26) - March 12,/22 - Had a 15-9-2 for a 26

GM Shawn (26) - November 16/19 - Had a 12-8-6 for a 26.

GM Andrew (25) - March 7/12 - had nights of 11-8-6 for a 25 total

GM Andrew (25) - November 27/19 - had a 9-9-7 for 25, trading Giordano who had one, for Johnson who had zero, at 4 PM prior to game starts

GM Andrew (24) - February 2/16 - Had a night of 10-9-5 for a total of 24 or 8.00 per team.

GM Marcel (24) - February 27/18 - Had a night of 12-7-5 or 8.00 per team

GM Charlie (November 19th, 2022) -  in NY Rangers - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Ranger Danger - For Charlie his Big GM Night also had a Big Team Night when his NY Rangers recorded their second ever 12+ point night, GM Charlies 4th such night all time with a career high of 14 in 2009-10 in Phoenix.  Newly acquired McAvoy had 4, Pavelski and Theodore 2 each while everyone else had singles, Matthews, Fox, Malkin and Hischier.  The Rangers may just be unstoppable this year.  They had 28 last week and with Malkin playing Sunday should reach 25 this week.  The team leads the NHLP in points for November with 72 and the league as a team at 1.05 PPG.  The roster is full of playoff players, with every one over a point per game except Theodore.  Just three points off the overall lead in the NHLP and already up 33 on fourth in the Atlantic Division.  It is hard to imagine any team being able to compete with what the Rangers have going on.  If the team gets better, GM Charlie has a real shot to win his second Cup this season.  -12

GM Scott - (November 7th, 2022 - in San Fran - BIG TEAM WEEK - Titanic Week for Titan - GM Scott came out of the gates charging hard to start the month of November in San Fran.  In what may vary well have been the GM's biggest week ever the Titan reached 33, just four points shy of the known record of Halifax (Scott).  Thompson's massive 6 point game and 9 point week led the way while four players all have 5 point weeks, Miller, Q. Hughes, Zegras and Dahlin.  Stuetzle had 3 and Mercer landed on the board with a single.  - 33

Memorable Nights in 2021/22

GM Marcel - (April 30th, 2022) - GM Marcel in Montreal - BIG TEAM MONTH - For just the second time in league history a team went over 100 points in a month.  GM Marcel in Montreal absolutely destroyed the previous best month of 102 in Dallas (GM Jr) from 2011.  Finishing with an insane 121 points as the team gets ready for a playoff run, the Canadiens might be peaking at the right time.  Kucherov led the way with an incredible 31 while two others hit 20+, Fiala 24, Thomas 24.  The rest of the scoring came from  O'Reilly 15, Kopitar 10, Carter 8 and Teravainen 9.  This appears a record that might stand the test of time. - 121

GM Marcel - (April 17th, 2022) - GM Marcel in Montreal - BIG GM NIGHT - With a 14-7-6 GM Marcel hit 27 points, in his 27th NHLP season, his most ever in one night.  The crazy night was one off GM Chad's record for 3 teams of 7 players.  Marcel did have previous nights of 11-9-6 (26) and 12-7-5 (24), hitting the 26 on March 27th.  Safe to say the GM has some high scoring players this season.

GM Jr - (April 17th, 2022) - GM Jr in Calgary - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Calgary waited a long time to have a 12+ point night, hitting 12 tonight, 22 seasons after GM Jr became only the second GM in league history to record a 12 point night in 1999-2000.  It was at this time that the NHLP really took notice of how hard the night was, knowing GM Ian accomplished the feat in 1994-95 with just a 5 player team at the time.  With 7 player teams the feat is not as hard to hit, but still only 9 teams in league history have had nights of 14+.  Calgary joined Alaska as the only two 12+ point nights that occurred on the same night, with GM Marcel hitting a career high 14 tonight.  For Jr Hedman had 4, Schenn 3 while Barbashev, Point, Slavin, Slavin and Motinook all had singles. (12)

GM Marcel - (April 17th, 2022) - GM Marcel in Alaska - BIG TEAM NIGHT -  GM Marcel hit a career high tonight with 14 points in Alaska, the first team in 13 seasons to hit the 14 spot with only GM Andrew six weeks ago, topping the 14 point mark, the first team to do so in the last decade.  It was just a crazy night, and week for Marcel had a Big GM Night of 27 tonight as well, just one of the record.  The NHL announced it was the highest scoring weekend of hockey ever in the league, so it should be no surprise two NHLP teams high the 12+ point night in the same night, with GM Jr hitting 12 in Calgary.  For Marcel, this was his second 12+ in just four days, hitting 12 in Montreal on the 14th. Marcel hit 12+ for the 7th time, tying GM Scott for the most ever such nights and Alaska became only the fourth team in league history to hit 12+ for a third time.  Mantha and Mantha had four each while GM Marcel was in the building in Montreal scouting his play.  M. Tkachuk had 4 as well and singles went to Svechnikov and DeAngelo.  Bergeron and Robertson played but did not point, meaning Marcel could have easily topped GM Jr's all time record of 17 tonight. (14)

GM Marcel - (April 14th, 2022) - GM Marcel in Montreal - BIG TEAM NIGHT - For back to back seasons now Montreal has reached 12+ in a night, the third time the team has done so, joining only two other teams, San Fran and Hamilton who have ever hit 12+ three times.  This is the 6th time GM Marcel has done the feat, only one now behind GM Scott who has managed it 7 times in 33 seasons.  Thomas had 5 on the night while Fiala had 3, Rielly 2, Kucherov 1 and Carter 1.

GM Bryce - (April 4th, 2022) - GM Bryce in Portland - BIG TEAM WEEK - GM Bryce had a big week in Portland, reaching 30 points.  McDavid led the way with 8 while both Marchessault and Barrie added 5 each.  Hyman with 4, Hall 3, Nichushkin 3 and Dadanov 2 rounded out the sweet week, only the second 30+ on the season.

GM Marcel - (March 27th, 2022) - GM Marcel - BIG GM NIGHT - GM Marcel came within two points of the all-time record for three teams of 7 players when he hit a 11-9-6 for a total of 26 from his three teams.  It is such a difficult feat to accomplish that this is only the 5th such time a number in one night has been reach with only three teams of seven players.  Previously Marcel's high as 24 in 2018 on a night of 12-7-5

GM Andrew - March 27th, 2022) - GM Andrew in Hartford - BIG TEAM WEEK - A high scoring week by GM Andrew, hitting 33, just four off GM Shawn's all-time mark of 37.  Gaudreau lead the way with 10, Rust 7, Vrana 5, Letang 4, Letang 4, Danault 2 and Burakovsky 1.

GM Andrew - (March 27th, 2022) - GM Andrew in Hartford - BIG TEAM NIGHT - The scoring continues for GM Andrew who had his 5th ever 12+ point night just two weeks after his LA team did the feat.  Andrew is now only two such nights off the all-time lead currently held by GM Scott who has 7 BIG TEAM NIGHTS.  Hartford had 3 from Letang, Letang and Rust while Vrana had two and Burakovsky had a single.  It was the second time Hartford has hit 12.

GM Andrew - (March 12th, 2022) - GM Andrew in Los Angeles - BIG GM NIGHT -  On March 10 2013 GM Chad set the record for most points in a night with three teams of 7 players. Chad’s teams combined for a 9.33 points per team on a 13-10-5 and a second best all time 1.33 points per player on the night. Only the 34 point night December 9, 2006 by GM Scott who averaged 1.42 points per player was better. Scott had a four team night of six player teams of 14-8-6-6. Andrews total last night was two off Chad’s. The 15-9-2 for 26. With three teams of 7 players has only been reached four times ever.

GM Andrew - (March 12th, 2022) - GM Andrew in Los Angeles - BIG TEAM NIGHT - As a safe estimate the NHLP has had over 160,000 hockey nights. That number would be each team having 180 hockey nights a year including season and playoffs. The NHLP has averaged at least 30 teams a season over even just 30 seasons. Those calculations show just how big of night GM Andrew had in Los Angeles. Prior to last night only GM Jr had ever done it. The 2009-10 playoff night of 17 by New Jersey and the same season Dallas becoming at the time the first 15 point night in the leagues now 32 year history. So the feat is occurring about once a decade of a teaming reaching 15. Los Angeles has been in the NHLP every season and made the first ever player selection into the league drafting Wayne Gretzky with the first pick in the 1989-90 season. For the Kings Panarin had 5. Thomas 4. Johansen 3. Strome 2 and E Kane 1. Kerfoot and Wilson did not play.

GM Chad - (March 10th, 2022) - GM Chad in Toronto - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Toronto has their second ever 12+ point night, tying a career high for GM Chad with a huge 13 points on the night.  Ekblad led the way with 4, Gaudreau and Reinhart had 3 each while Schenn with 2 and Krug with one rounded out the 13.  Toronto has been in all 32 NHLP seasons and this marked a first, leaving only 7 NHLP teams to never accomplish the feat one time.  Chad has been at the helm of the Leafs Franchise for 24 seasons.  Chad now has three Big Nights, his last coming in 2012-13.

GM Matt - (October 23rd, 2021) - GM Matt - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Indianapolis had a 12 point night.  MacKinnon had 3, Trochek 3, Gaudreau 2, Dvorak 2, Arvidsson 1, Beavillier 1.

Memorable Nights in 2020/21

GM Chad - (May 8th, 2021) - GM Chad in Toronto - BIG TEAM WEEK - GM Chad was just four points shy of the all-time mark in a week.  Chad was able to reach 33 in Toronto.  McDavid had 13, Bonino 5, Martinez 5, Barrie 4, Beauvillier 4, Josi 2 and Kucherov 0

GM Andrew - (May 7th, 2021) - GM Andrew in Los Angeles - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Los Angeles finally reaches a 12+ point night.  LA had Pavalski 4, Pavelski 4, Hintz 3 and Benn 1

GM Chad - (May 4th, 2021) - GM Chad in Toronto - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Toronto hits 13 - GM Chad finally had Toronto reach a 12+, tying a career high at 13.  McDavid had 4, Bonino 3, Josi 2, Martinez 2, Barrie 1, Beauvillier 1 and Kucherov 0

GM Jr - (April 28th, 2021) GM Jr in Dallas - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Dallas had there second ever 12+ point night.  Pacioretty 3, Foligno 2, Perron 2, Kyrou 2, Martinez 1, Krug 1 and Krug 1

GM Marcel - (March 7th, 2021) - GM Marcel in Montreal - BIG TEAM WEEK - Just two points off the NHLP's all-time best week in league history were the Montreal Canadiens this week.  GM Marcel had his best ever team week with no trades and no Waivers, putting up an incredible 35, just two back of the 2008-09 Haflifax (GM Shawn) record of 37.  Montreal was led by Necas with 8 followed by Rantanen and Gallagher with 6 each while Kadri and Tatar had 5 each, Barzal 4 and Beauvillier 2.  Montreal also had a career-tying 13 points for GM Marcel just yesterday.

GM Marcel - (March 6th, 2021) - GM Marcel in Montreal - BIG TEAM NIGHT - It was 13 years since GM Marcel had his career high 13 point night, the NHLP Cup winning Florida Panthers in 2007-08.  This might be a good thing for the Montreal Canadiens team of Marcel who tied that career best on Saturday.  For the Habs, Gallagher and Tatar had 3 points each while Rantanen, Barzal and Kadri added a pair each.  The lucky 13th point was a single by Beauvillier.  This was the 5th time Marcel had a dozen plus night and the second such night for Montreal.  This comes almost a full year since the NHLP had its last in-person meeting (because of Covid), the 2019-20 Trading Deadline hosted by GM Marcel.

Memorable Nights in 2019/20

GM Scott (February 18th, 2020) - GM Scott in Philadelphia - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Flyer First in 15 Seasons - The last time the Philadelphia Flyer had a 12 point night the team won their only ever NHLP Cup in 2006.  "It is hard to forget that team, that year, and the trade" said GM Scott looking back.  The team was stacked at the end with Lang, Recchi, Weight, Schneider, Briere and Briere.  The trade, not the move acquiring Briere twice, who ended with 19 playoff points each, but the deal with GM Ryan, the biggest point move in NHLP history, moving 56 points, one of the leagues leading scorers, a Waiver and draft picks.  Staal had a career best 100 points that season and 28 more in the playoffs, but it was the deal for Recchi and Weight who both had 16 each that Scott  remembers the most.  If the 2019/20 Flyer are to repeat this kind of success, they won't be giving 56 points to do so.  This teams success will likely lay ahead in what happens with Pageau and Pageau, who added four points each last night, 8 of the teams dozen.  Williams added two while singles went to Aho and Connor.  Teravainen did not point while Little is out for the season and awaiting an injury pick any day.  For Scott this is his second 12 point night in a week, with the San Fran Titan hitting the mark on the 13th.  Philadelphia now joins a list of 9 teams, including all three of Scott's to have hit the 12+ mark two or more times each. (12)

GM Scott (February 13th, 2020) - GM Scott in San Fran - BIG TEAM NIGHT - GM Scott's "Half-Dozen" Dozen - For the second time this season a team reached a dozen points in a night, giving GM Scott his league leading 6th all time 12+ night.  The San Fran Titan got 4 from Stone who led the night while Pacioretty added 3, Marchessault 2, Pietrangelo 2, and Perron one.  Kreider played without a point and Tarasenko is hurt.  The night was the 6th ever 12+ point night for the 30 year veteran GM.  "Once every fives" said Scott, "It still remains a hard feat after all these years."  For the Titan it was their third such night, but first in a decade, tying GM Tyson's Hamilton Hitmen who were the first ever team to reach the feat three times.  Eight NHLP teams, including three teams in all 30 seasons, have never had a 12 point night. (12)

GM Marcel (December 31st) - GM Marcel in Montreal - BIG TEAM MONTH - Career Month for GM Marcel - GM Marcel enjoyed his best month ever in December, ending with an 88, just 14 shy of the all time NHLP record.  The Habs only had Krejci fail to reach double digits, ending with 9.  Connor with 17 led the teams scoring while Teravainen 14, Domi 13, M. Tkachuk 1, van Riemsdyk 12 and Rantanen had 11 to round out the GM's best month in 25 years.  (88)

GM Andrew (December 31st) - GM Andrew in Chicago - BIG TEAM MONTH - Career Month For Andrew in Chicago - After only seeing two 88+ months in a full decade, the NHLP has seen three so far in the 2019/20 season.  Although four teams reached 80+, which is a nice month, GM Andrew dipped into the 90's, ending with a career best 94 for the month of December.  Huberdeau led the team with a 22 while Zibanajad 17, Guentzel 16, and Kreider 12 had double digit points.  Three players ended with 9, Landeskog, Yandle and Thomas.  Teams don't stay together long and with the January 2nd Waiver, at least three players will be gone from the roster.  The NHLP record for points in a month was set in December 2011 by GM Jr in Dallas when his Stars, led by the 22 points of Henrik Sedin, had a 102 point month.  (88)

GM Shawn (November 27th) - GM Andrew - BIG GM NIGHT - GM Andrew's Teams Scoring - Just ten days ago GM Shawn had a 26 point night, an occurrence not expected to be matched this season.  Now GM Andrew ties a career best for three teams of players (3-7) players with a 25.  Andrew didn't hit ten anywhere, but the 9-9-7 is the 5th best ever in the 10 years the NHLP has ran with 3-7.  This was not of course Andrew's biggest night as a GM.  The GM had a 32 with four teams of seven players (4-7 or 1.14 PPG per player) with the all-time record held by GM Scott with a 34 (4-6 or 1.42 PPG per player).  GM Scott's 1.42 PPG per player, with 3 teams of 7 equates to having a 30 point night between your teams, a feat not reached in 10 years with GM Chad holding the current high of 28.  For Chad his 28 point night did set NHLP standards for points per team on a night of 9.33, a number having never been duplicated with any number of teams in one night.

GM Shawn in New Orleans (November 16th) - GM Shawn - BIG TEAM NIGHT - Makar Leads Wolverines to Dozen - GM Shawn had his 5th 12+ point night, the second all-time in New Orleans.  The first 12+ of the year, the 42nd all time, was lead by a four point night by rookie sensation and Calder Trophy leader Makar.  Malkin, W. Karlsson and Morrissey added two each whole singles went to Marchessault and Dumba.  O'Reilly played but did not point in what had the potential to be an even more impressive night.

GM Shawn (November 16th) GM Shawn - BIG GM NIGHT - GM Shawn Scores 26 - It has been five NHLP seasons since anyone did better than 26 in a night between their three teams.  The monster night by GM Shawn was highlighted by a 12 point night in New Orleans with an 8 and 6 on his other teams for the 26.  It was Shawn who last had a better night, in 2014 when he had a second best ever night for three teams with 7 players, hitting a 27, one shy of GM Chad's record 28.  Shawn had 19 of his 21 players playing, with two sitting out with injuries.  The mark of 30, essentially three teams averaging ten points each on a night, has not been hit in the 10 years the NHLP has ran with three teams of 7 players, but in that time, Shawn's night was the third best over that span. (26)

GM Bryce in Portland (November 1st, 2019) - GM Bryce - BIG TEAM MONTH - Rookie GM has Memorable First Month - GM Bryce started his term as an NHLP better than anyone ever has, ending a wicked month of October with an incredible 88 points.  The all-time biggest month in league history was 102 by Dallas (Jr) almost a decade ago.  What makes this even more special is it was only 27 days long in terms of hockey nights.  Portland just played 89 games all month, averaging 0.99 PPG, opening up a 38 point lead over 5th place in the Pacific.  McDavid led the way with 23 points, five ahead of the 18 by Pettersson.  Three players had 11 point months, Oshie, Larkin and Schmaltz, one less than the 12 of Mantha.  Vesey added just 2 points, showing the month could have been much better still.  This quick start will be a great opportunity for the new GM to use those points as the league winds along to bring in assets to make the Winter Hawks a powerhouse in the NHLP in his first season.  Congrats Bryce.  Awesome start to what we hope is a long NHLP career. (88)

GM Jr in Dallas (November 1st, 2019) - GM Jr - BIG TEAM MONTH - It wasn't the 102 that GM Jr had in Dallas in December of 2011, but an 82 point month is a great way to start the season.  Carlsson and Ovechkin combined for half the total with 23 and 18 respectively.  Monahan had 11, Johnsson, Burakovsky and Getzlaf 9 each the young Rookie Steel chipped in 3.  The Stars are in first place in the South Division, 18 points clear of 5th place. Memorable Nights in 2018/19

GM Andrew in Hartford (March 23rd, 2019) - GM Andrew BIG TEAM NIGHT - Hartford Has Franchise First 12 - Since becoming a GM in 1995/96 GM Andrew has accomplished more than any other GM in league history.  The GM has won six NHLP Championships on four different teams.  If Atlantic City goes all the way this season, he could do it on a fifth different team, even though GM's only have three teams they operate.  As much as Andrew has done, including two Cups in Hartford, last night was the first time in Franchise history the team had a 12+ point night.  In-fact, of Andrew's current teams of Hartford, Chicago and Los Angeles, a total of five Cups between them, this was the first 12+ point night of the three teams combined.  Andrew's only other 12+ was in 2009/10 with Washington when the Capitals had his career best 14 point night.  Last night Hayes and Connor each had four while Schenn and Schenn had two each.  Ehlers and Arvidsson did not have a point and Couture did not play, meaning this could have easily been much higher then just the 12 it ended up being.  This was the second time a team hit a dozen since the NHLP Trading Deadline, the only teams to hit the mark the entire season.  For a GM with a collective 12,000+ team-hockey nights under his belt, only hitting the 12+ for a second time shows just how rare of feat this is to accomplish. (12)

GM Tyson in St Louis (March 12th, 2019) - GM Tyson BIG TEAM NIGHT - The KING of the BIG NIGHT - No GM in league history has dominated the 12+ point nights the way GM Tyson continues to pad his stats.  The GM tied a career high with 13 points Tuesday, the first 12+ point night this season.  For Tyson it was number 6 all time. placing him alone in the NHLP record books.  "He has done it more times than GM's Jr and Andrew put together" stated Muddy Capone, "That is just shy of a combined 50 years of GM'ing."  The St Louis Blues surely needed the points, moving from 4th to first and now 15 points clear of 5th place in the Pacific Division.  Gaudreau had a six point night with Giordano, Thornton and Vrana adding two more each.  The lucky 13th was added by Josi with Simmonds and Bozak playing but not pointing on the night.  The Blues Franchise, winnings of two NHLP Championships now also have two 12+ point nights.  GM Tyson is hoping the Blues can be the first team ever to win a third team Cup while the GM goes for his 4th Cup in just his 10th NHLP season. (13)

GM Andrew (December 22nd, 2018) - GM Andrew BIG GM NIGHT, 4 TEAMS OF 7 PLAYERS - GM Andrew's Career High Night - When you have a career night after 23 years of your craft, it truly shows just how remarkable the night was.  One of only three GM's having four NHLP teams this season it wasn't expected one of those three would have a Big GM Night (4 Teams).  With the record of 34, set in December of 2006 by GM Scott on a night of 14-8-6-6, it was a record not expected to be in play this season.  GM's entering the season only carried three teams each, until GM Vinnie stepped aside.  With four teams GM Andrew had a 32 point night last night, his career best on a 10-8-8-6.  This is the best ever Four Team, 7 Players night.  When GM Scott did the feat in 2006 he had a Four Team, 6 Players per team.  For Scott the record was 1.42 Points Per Player on the night while Andrew's new record will sit at 1.14 Points Per Player.  With 14 games on the NHL schedule, there was potential for someone to have a Big Night, but still no team this season has had a 12+ point night.  As hard as these records are to occur, there is clearly room for much better.  Between Andrew's 28 players three of them had 3 point nights, eight had 2 point nights, seven had a 1 point night and ten never had a point at all, while three where injured on the night and didn't play.  Congrats to GM Andrew for one for the ages. (32)

GM Shawn in Halifax (November 12th, 2018) - GM Shawn BIG TEAM WEEK in Halifax - Halifax Strong Week - In the past three seasons only four teams now have hit 30+ points in a week.  Two seasons ago San Fran (Scott) did it while last season only the Rangers (Charlie) and Nordiques (Matt) had Big Team Weeks of 30 or more points.  The first Big Night of any kind this season belongs to GM Shawn in Halifax.  Starting this season the Big Team Night is only officially recognized with a 12+ point night, and not ten as was the case in other years.  It was ten NHLP seasons ago Halifax had the biggest team week of all time, hitting 37 points in the week.  The Destroyers, already with three Waivers this season, hit 31 this past week to extend their Atlantic Division lead to 9 points over second, 18 over fifth, while moving 28 up on the big fat Whale in last.  A team with Crosby, who wasn't much of a factor in the week with only 3, was led by Domi with 8 points.  Couturier and Krejci had 6 each while Gostibehere had 4, Draisaitl 3 and Hamilton the 31st point.  Halifax is only 12 points out of first place overall in the NHLP.  The team has the last two Waivers of November and a third in December.  It is very likely the team could use a Waiver while the Minors are plentiful, but surely the GM will have no use for three this season.  Early on, prior to the Draft, Halifax was thought to have the best shot at building the best NHLP team.  That has not changed.  If anything, the way the team is scoring, they should be able to make a huge deal with one of their Waivers when the right time comes, which could be very soon.  GM Shawn has never won an NHLP Cup, but certainly Halifax will be in the mix all season long.   (31)
