1294 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
In a battle for his Cup life in a first round series match with high
flying Quebec (Matt). Matt chose Detroit as his tie-breaker,
something that might figure in and GM Joel has a great Detroit team.
Still this team belongs to Daniel Sedin and if Joel wins it, we believe
it will be Sedin in the end as the reason why. The opportunity is
here. |

1418 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
Amazing Trading Deadline, putting it out there and grabbing Daniel Sedin
when GM Chad got desperate. It was just an awesome move and will
likely lead to a run for GM Joel and maybe a Cup if Vancouver or Detroit
rolls. We think besides Calgary (Jr) this is the team that
improved the most at the NHLP Deadline. All they have to do now is
secure a playoff spot. |

972 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
Would he still do the Kessel thing all over again? Serious
question marks have emerged, but has 20 points to work with. Who
moves first is always key in the NHLP, sometimes good, sometimes bad. |

12 |
1110 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
Still a solid 16 points up on 5th, but if GM Jr comes up in Calgary,
Vancouver is only 6 points up on 4th. Calgary moving up might be
too much to ask with all the injuries, so GM Joel likely has plenty of
room to move his fringe players Kessel, Stillman and Miettinen, if
needed. Tampa Bay has fallen and Malone has been dropped, hurting
the CTR. For a first place team there is potentially a hell of a
lot of work to do. |

5 |
1475 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
GM Joel found the deal he liked best and went out and made a 27 point
trade with GM Charlie (New York) and brought in Filppula and Holmstrom.
All things considered, now this team is up here to stay. Tampa Bay
is flying, leaving St Louis and Malone top seeded players. Malone
is long term injury, but that has not stopped Joel at all from keeping
him. Will Cole still get dealt as has been the rumor the past
month? Wheeler, won't be traded in the NHL and is 28 points that
will be moved later, so there is still not only position, but reason for
more action here. Great deal with New York! |

1594 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
You have to wonder what kind of offers GM Joel had with the waiver, to
turn them all down and use it himself? He did get Wheeler to go
with Recchi, but that won't help first round scoring. Frolik was
likely a steal in the scoring department (rumors are he may play with
Kane and Toews), but scoring isn't a problem here. Unless Chicago
comes back, he is still a non playoff player. Neither Visnovsky or
Cole are sure things, both could yet find their way out of the ranking
and NHL playoffs. Still a great CTR, we do love it for sure, and
still 56 points to work with, so although nothing seems accomplished
yet, no one can argue that can't yet occur. So many points in
potential. Can GM Joel really improve this team in the CTR before
the potential means nothing anymore? |

4 |
1724 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
Having Peverley a few more times might be the only way to slow this team
down. GM Joel has 63 points to play with. We guess that
means, you are never out of it in the NHLP, with teams with points like
that to throw away. This team has 4 fringe players, all could be
dealt with 10 points each if (and when) Joel finds suitors. As
high a CTR, if better players aren't brought in, can Joel's Vancouver
win here? Likely, only if Tampa Bay goes to the finals. GM
Joel might be best to not wait until there are no more players available
anywhere, if he even has that option right now. I guess it depends
on who you think is calling the shots? Those up with the points to
give or those out with the players not found in the minors? |

5 |
1689 (H2 - 1923, L15 - 703) |
Welcome back Stewart! Only up 57 on 5th, that added point per game
will help GM Joel. This team can make some poor team a playoff
team at any second. Someone will be added here, changing some
other NHLP division standings in a real hurry. As high as this
team is ranked, other than Tampa Bay at the 3rd seed and Boston at the
4th seed, all players are fringe. |
40 |
2 |
1923 (L15 - 703) |
GM Joel moved up the CTR after adding Liles and Kopecky for Getzlaf and
Tambellini. We think it had to do more with St Louis and Malone
now being a top seed in the East as Tampa as moved to the second seed
behind Philadelphia. The Canucks have 51 points to use to improve
but although everyone is rated, two players, Kopecky and Peverley, are
flirting with curve 16 at the Whistler Sliding Centre. |

1819 (L15 - 703) |
GM Joel knows what it feels like to be atop the CTR and once again that
is where he finds himself. Finally having over thrown the Halifax
Destroyers (Shawn) who have just owned the CTR this season. Why is
this team so good? What are they going to do with 52 points up on
5th? They honestly will have trouble giving them all away, but we
are sure it can be done. Tampa Bay is a new top seed along with
Vancouver here. Was able to easily deal with the Stewart injury
and will get him back soon. Getzlaf will make some NHLP team out
of the playoffs happy, when he gets packaged in a 2-2 for any amount of
points GM Joel feels he wants to give away that deal. What comes
back the other way will determine how high this team goes and if they
can stay in first in the CTR or not. A lot of potential here,
points you can't take beyond the end of the regular season, so use them
or lose them. NEW YEAR'S WISH: The Tampa Bay Lightning going
to the finals. After that this team will need match ups from East
and West. Good players, high scorers but outside of Tampa, no
single player here can likely win Joel the Cup. |

1405 (H5 - 1418, L15 - 703) |
The Nuck's are now 47 points up on 5th, carrying Stewart who hasn't
played all month. The team can and is scoring like crazy with 7
playoff players. Getzlaf is the low seed here, in on faith only,
so GM Joel may be looking at trading Getzlaf and some points to improve
the CTR and his Cup chances. Need points, look no further!

1418 (L15 - 703) |
GM Joel has CLIMBED...and climbed to a season high CTR at 1418 as well
as 40 points up in the West, on 5th place. Seems content on
carrying Stewart and why not? Stewart is a playoff player, as is,
who is over a point per game. Getzlaf and Peverley are just barely
rated, but are rated, making 7 rated players in the CTR rankings.
Tambellini is the highest seeded player on this team, and he is scoring
a lot of points, so helping this rating right now at the moment.
Will he slow? At 40 points up on 5th in the West Division...does
it really matter? |

1074 (H4 - 1200, L15 - 703) |
Anaheim can't make up their mind! The Ducks are either really hot
and really cold, and this past week, really cold! GM Joel likely
doesn't care a whole lot, as this team just keeps opening up it's
position, now 27 points clear of 5th in the West. Three 20-point
players; St Louis, Stewart and Getzlaf. Phoenix has made a nice
climb from unrated to the 6th seed, making assets of Wolski and Upshall.
No doubt there is room to improve and one thing we love about GM Joel,
he doesn't sit on his ass and watch things unfold...he does his own
laundry! |

703 (H4 - 1200) |
Talk about getting derailed. Still 21 points clear of 5th the CTR
took a serious hit, thanks mainly to Colorado falling out of the
rankings and Tampa dropping seeds. If Anaheim wasn't rated, this
team would of fell much further still, but Getzlaf and Koivu are now
considered NHLP assets. Scoring isn't a problem here, but what is,
not one player is on a home team seed if the playoffs started today! |

1200 (L8 -
1081) |
GM Joel has two teams in the top 5 overall in the CTR. Still only
3 rated players here, shows you where this team can be down the
road when that changes. The Lightning connection of St Louis and
Malone are top seeds in the East, while Stewart is sadly just lost in
Colorado. Not lost in any other sense, but lost to the fans,
seeing this guy play every night. He loves fighting, so much so,
the team told him to knock it off and concentrate on scoring. He
has 16 points in just 11 games to go with his 25 minutes in penalties.
He said he'd still like to fight more, if they allow him too!!! (Here
Stawart bloodies Regehr in a few places and
Here poor Strachan
is a bloodied rag doll) |

1081 |
We see all the potential for this team this year, to improve that is.
How can't they improve when they are scoring at will and with
their Divisional position improving daily, on the weak links behind
them. This team has only 3 players here who are even getting
rated. No where to go but up. St Louis and Malone are
striking hot for the Lightning and Stewart, you have to enjoy watching
this kid Stewart. Sit back and also watch the Canucks climb the
CTR folks! |
