Shawn
(East) |
What can you say that isn't a compliment about this team? GM Shawn
put it out there and went for it. Top seeds are everywhere.
His cup hopes rest on Vancouver, Washington and Philadelphia making long
runs. What isn't there to like about that? Has drawn GM Chad
in Pittsburgh and likely would be out if Crosby plays. As is this
will be the biggest hurdle for Shawn, round one. If he gets buy it
with the favorites winning, he will be likely too hard to knock out.
Very nicely done. |

Matt
(North) |
Wow, what a finish!!! A season high CTR to end it! This team
really came alive and Perry is just insane right now. Who knows
how many he'll get in the first round, but one thing is for sure, they
all will be needed. Drawing a horrible first round matchup in
Vancouver (Joel) who can flat out score. The pick could factor in,
but GM Matt has did really well in making this team one of the very best
in the NHLP. Has options everywhere with East runs by favorites
Washington or Boston and West runs by tough San Jose and hot Anaheim.
We like it a lot, but will he muster up enough to get out of round one? |

Charlie
(East) |
Came back to finish atop the East. A great season for GM Charlie
and a great team here in New York. Ovechkin will ideally lead the
charge in the playoffs but Charlie also has top seeded Leino in the East
as well. The opportunity is here for GM Charlie to finally get his
first Championship. |

Charlie
(South) |
GM Charlie doesn't really like the reporters at the CTR. But we do
like GM Charlie and we like this team. Most recently GM Charlie
exploded, telling the CTR to "Get the facts" before printing the crap we
do. That was about the crap offers GM Charlie received for Erat,
that being the reason he kept Erat, over he is "High on his players."
So now we retract and think both are true; GM Charlie received crap
offers and he is high on his players. Who wouldn't be with this
team? The best NHLP built Wings team with awesome matchup
potential outside the Wings of Vancouver, Boston and Philadelphia.
Looks like a good matchup against St Louis (Tyson) in round one, but
things will get scary with each game Zetterberg misses. We just
want to grab Charlie's cheek like Grandma use to do and say "Good job
Chucky, ole boy. You got yourself a opportunity to win the NHLP
Championship". Well deserved here! |

Chad
(East) |
GM Chad hung onto Crosby and was still able to easily score enough to
get in. If Crosby doesn't play a game, it seems it is a flip of a
coin in round one versus Halifax for Chad. This team is solid and
always has been the best Pittsburgh built team in the NHLP. Chad
could win his third NHLP Championship, but unlikely without Crosby.
The NHL Pens could easily win round one with Sid, giving him a couple
more weeks to be healthy, but can Chad be around in round two without
Sid's scoring? It could just happen! |

Joel
(West) |
In a battle for his Cup life in a first round series match with high
flying Quebec (Matt). Matt chose Detroit as his tie-breaker,
something that might figure in and GM Joel has a great Detroit team.
Still this team belongs to Daniel Sedin and if Joel wins it, we believe
it will be Sedin in the end as the reason why. The opportunity is
here. |

Andrew
(North) |
Got in with his Flyers and that was the goal. Hossa or Benn on the
final day were tradeoffs and Andrew would have likely chosen Hossa
anyhow, so he has to be happy either way. Outside that Flyers run
this team may be hard pressed to win it all unless the Hawks repeat or a
matchup occurs. Very unlikely of a matchup, so it would seem sink
of swim with the Flyers, a team GM Andrew believed in and never waivered
on all season. Draws a great first round opponent in Calgary (Jr).
Go Flyers Go! |

Shawn
(South) |
Could not have
been a happy camper when Dallas blew their opportunity for the playoffs,
but all in all, it likely matters not. If Dallas and Richards were
only first round scoring, who needs it. The Wolverines match up
against GM Marcel in Florida and without Eric Staal and Kopitar, GM
Shawn should be able to roll over those former NHLP Champs. This
team gets a lot better in the second round and although the CTR isn't
the best, Shawn does have matchups of Vancouver versus Philly, Boston or
Pittsburgh. We like those and we like this team. |

 |
Michael & Ray
(North) |
Finished very
strong to grab the top overall NHLP seed for the entire playoffs.
This is Stamkos team. He will have to score in round one, but this
team matched up all wrong, having to lose at least 3 and maybe 4 players
in round one. Odds are even if they win round one they won't have
enough to get it done all the way. On the bright said they have a
good first round matchup in Edmonton (Scott) and are guaranteed to have
at least 3 second round players, maybe 4 if Phoenix beats Detroit and
not every team is guaranteed that. |

1080 (H3 - 1525, L24 - 67) |
 |
Tyson
(South) |
In on the very last game of the NHL season. Not the worst team in
the playoffs but really would have loved to see Dallas get in for
Morrow's added scoring. Will need all the first round scoring
possible against the favored Miami Surf (Charlie). Is likely
Vancouver or nothing unless Phoenix or Pittsburgh run. Getting out
of the first round will likely be just too tough and back to back Cups
by GM Tyson, very unlikely. |
11 |
914 (H12 -1171, L23 -
425) |
 |
Jr
(West) |
If he could
ever get out of the first round, GM Jr could run again with the Wings.
Not a single East player but could have a 5 player second round.
Missing that 7th players scoring is really going to show through in the
first round where Jr can win, but will likely be gone. It is all
Detroit in a big, big way. |
12 |
914 (H13 - 1074, L21 - 150) |
 |
Scott
(West) |
Man is GM Scott one lucky shit! He could have lost Bolland and
Toews and even Stafford and Sekera. Without Bolland GM Scott is a
serious underdog versus Ottawa (Mike & Ray) so it isn't looking good
unless the Blackhawks find a way to get back to the Cup finals.
Even then, if you don't have the first round scoring to win, none of
that matters. |

Chad
(North) |
Sometimes the hockey God's are just routing for you. Was out if GM
Marcel did not penalty out when Carolina just blew it all in the final
game of the season. So, not only is Chad in, but he has Stepan.
Already without Havlat he could have lost Brouwer in the final game, but
Dallas blew it. So now Chad is in the NHLP playoffs and he gets a
perfect matchup with the lowly Boston Bruins (Ryan) in a series this
team could actually win. Will likely be gone when Tampa loses out
but has hope they run and the Leafs finally win an NHLP Championship.
(Not very likely though) |

 |
Andrew
(West - Pacific) |
Cannot stress enough how injuries have killed this team all season.
Now Callahan's missed scoring in the first round will likely keep this
team from pulling a nice upset and moving on. Not too much here to
be excited about outside of Pittsburgh or something resembling the
Miracle Mets of 1969. |
15 |
645 (H5 -
1446, L20 - 525) |
 |
Ryan
(East) |
Grabbed the final playoff spot in the East and draws a nice first round
series against GM Chad's Leafs. GM Ryan isn't favorite to win in
round one and this is one of the worst teams to make the NHLP playoffs,
but he is in the dance and weirder things have happened, just not in the
NHLP. Semin is going to have to lead this team in a big way if
they are to go while could be a sleeper if the Hawks get by the Canucks.
All in all, not a great team. |

529 (H7 - 1294, L19 - 472) |
 |
Marcel
(South) |
What can you do? Eric Staal chokes out on the final game of the
season, which just may have been the scoring needed to win in round one
against New Orleans (Shawn). Kopitar's injury was a killer and
will be the deciding factor for this teams playoff chances. It
wasn't GM Marcel's year. |
