1523 (H4 - 1552, L20 - 464) |
Has hope with the Sharks or Caps making runs. Would appear to have
a playoff spot even though only 8 up on 6th. The Williams injury
may determine this teams fate. If he plays in the first round, GM
Joel is a lot stronger. If Williams is not back, this team might
be easy pickings even though a CTR #3. |
70 |
4 |
1552 (L20 - 464) |
A new CTR season high with Washington climbing seeds, adding value to
Wideman and Arnott. Arnott might not be available in the short
term, but that should not matter as this team has plenty of movable
parts if a few points are wanted. Still the best build Sharks team
in the NHLP and the Sharks are one of the very best teams in the NHL
right now. |

11 |
1166 (H7 - 1430, L20 - 464) |
Arnott, Widemen and Brouwer, all solid additions. The Cloths Line
has been unstoppable, as the Sharks just keep winning. They could
again be a top 2 seed. GM Joel has 7 playoff players. It has
been an up and down season here, but we don't see many more downward
dips, as this team just has to get in the playoffs and let the Sharks do
it. If that happens, GM Joel just may be able to get it done. |

8 |
1333 (H7 - 1430, L20 - 464) |
The Sharks stayed high and so has GM Joel this ranking. This team
can flat out score! Five players basically at 0.80 PPG with 4 of
them playoff players. Not a team you are going to want to play in
the first round of the NHLP playoffs, and after that, as long as the
Sharks are still in. Only 14 up on 5th, so it will be hard to make
major improvements, but this team, as any team in the NHLP, can always
be better. The ship will likely go down with the Sharks, but
message is clearly out there, Joel owns that Cup run, outright! |

9 |
1298 (H7 - 1430, L20 - 464) |
Here are the CTR rankings since the start of the season for Buffalo:
Started 15-5-16-6-15-11-7-7-20-20 and now 9th. Seven different
times this team has crossed back and forth over the 1000 point mark in
the CTR including at one point a 966 point drop between ratings.
Now we just saw an 826 point gain! The reason we see this madness
here is because there are three high scorers all from San Jose on this
team and the Sharks have been the most yo-yo like team this NHL season.
They have been streaky and shooting either up or down the NHL Western
Standings, seemingly every rating. This time, they may just stay
high as they haven't lost in 10 games (likely the kiss of death was just
delivered to GM Joel in that last statement). This team is all
Sharks and will likely follow them round to round come playoff time.
Being the hottest team in the NHL right now, not a bad team to be
banking on. |
50 |
20 |
472 (H7 - 1430, L20 - 464) |
Take a deep breath. San Jose is back into a playoff spot and
Thornton, Clowe and Pavelski are all rated again. This team has 5
fringe players, two of them, non playoffs right now. GM Joel has seemed
to have committed himself to the Sharks, but as things sit at this
moment, there is no need for anyone to be out shopping for a bigger
boat! |
45 |
20 |
464 (H7 - 1430) |
The highest 5 game point drop in CTR HISTORY! GM Joel dropped (mid
season to boot), 966 points in the ranking between the 40 and 45 game
mark. "This is something we have never seen, ever" stated Muddy
Capone about the incredible deterioration, "When
I saw this I could only picture one thing." Only Kunitz and
this guy named Perrault are playoff players for GM Joel who is only 10
points clear of 5th. The famous Clothes Line has been replaced in
Buffalo with other promotions such as "Steen Thornton?" and "WILLiAM...NOT".
It can't get worse! |
40 |
7 |
1430 (L16 - 606) |
Still moving to new highs after a 2-2 at the Winter Meeting. Added
Steen and Perrault. San Jose has moved up to the 4th seed in the
West, giving Thornton, Clowe and Pavelski a nice rating. This team
will likely be in second place in the North before long, but nothing
here will be easy as the others will keep things very tight. Can
still move higher if San Jose has it in them to catch the leaders
Detroit and Vancouver. |
35 |
7 |
1346 (L16 - 606) |
San Jose as climbed in seeds, finally looking like the team many thought
they were and GM Joel is along for the ride, to a new season high CTR
here in Buffalo. Seven playoff players and 14 solid points up on
5th, Joel's new year is looking bright. NEW YEAR'S WISH:
Clearly a Sharks Cup run. Getting at least three rounds from San
Jose could win this team a Cup with the right support. At the
moment that would be from Williams in LA or Kunitz in Pittsburgh. |
30 |
11 |
985 (H6 - 1337, L16 - 606) |
A well balanced scoring team with decent position still. What
hurts the rating continues to be the Sharks so-so play. Seeded
tied for 8th, the Sharks must be better for GM Joel to climb the CTR.
If the Sharks dropped out than Joel will have three non playoffs
totaling 77 points. Parse's replacement comes this week and that
low number may be needed. Joel has such a strong Shark's team, the
NHLP's best, he will likely ride them as long as he can. Should
they be ok, ya, they should, but with 60% of the season to play their
real value is for true believers only. (“Your
ego is writing checks your body can’t cash” - Top Gun) |
25 |
15 |
821 (H6 - 1337, L16 - 606) |
The San Jose Sharks have not been great. Actually they are barely
even good right now, and rated only by our big hearts. This team
needs San Jose to start winning, as this is the best Sharks team there
is in the NHLP. Parse has hurt, but LA is still a home seed, and
this team has the hot Williams. It is all Sharks here, and right
now, that can't be a good thing for GM Joel. |
20 |
6 |
1337 (L16 - 606) |
A season high CTR, even with some season low, bad news. After
picking up first line, King player, Parse, he quickly was lost for 3
months. That was devastating news to GM Joel's Sabres. Not
helping is the fact, the Sharks, just can't seem to climb the NHL
standings. If that happens, the Sharks start winning, Joel will rise up
the CTR, as this is the NHLP's best Sharks team. Williams is having a
sensational season. |
15 |
16 |
606 (H5 - 1124) |
Another team from the North that has nose dived in the CTR. The
"Clothes Line", Clowe, Pavelski and Thornton have joined Goligoski and
Kunitz as a team of 5 players that have zero CTR value. This team
is carried by only Williams and Ponikarovsky (with a "Y") and Poni
will be gone as he is injured for a month and Buffalo has a waiver to
unload him, penalty free. This team will bounce back when the Sharks
and Pens decide too themselves. |
10 |
5 |
1124 (L15 - 904) |
Jason Williams, in the 7th round, is turning out to be just an awesome
pick. The Kings aren't losing and games and Williams just keeps
scoring every game. Then again, there are not many on this team
not scoring. Thornton, Pavelski and Clowe are still only barely
rated, but non the less rated. If that barely rated becomes a top
seed, so will this team be near the tops of the CTR. Thornton just
tied a Sharks record for getting a point on 8 straight goals. He's
good! |
5 |
15 |
904 |
Everyone is rated and damned near everyone is scoring for GM Joel.
This team is hot, but is majorly invested in San Jose with Thornton,
Clowe and Pavelski. Those Sharks are only rated because of games
at hand, so although they should be fine, they are going to have to get
some points in those games. This team needs to keep it's pace as
this is by far the top scoring Division in the NHLP, with no signs of
slowing. Would help if Ponikarovsky would stop grazing in the
field somewhere and start getting some points himself. Expect Poni
rides soon in Buffalo. |
