Got in with his Flyers and that was the goal. Hossa or Benn on the
final day were tradeoffs and Andrew would have likely chosen Hossa
anyhow, so he has to be happy either way. Outside that Flyers run
this team may be hard pressed to win it all unless the Hawks repeat or a
matchup occurs. Very unlikely of a matchup, so it would seem sink
of swim with the Flyers, a team GM Andrew believed in and never waivered
on all season. Draws a great first round opponent in Calgary (Jr).

1097 (H2 -

Could be weakened in round one without Benn, Hossa or Fowler if any miss
and likely one of those teams will miss. Kept the top guns Giroux,
Carter and Hossa and hope will rest on the Flyers or the Hawks running.
Is not a guarantee to be in, but with Montreal (Marcel) almost assured
to penalty out, GM Andrew only needs to catch one of the other 4 teams
in front of him and Toronto (Chad) and Quebec (Matt) have injury woes. |

1055 (H2 -
1655, L14 - 900) |
Does GM Andrew still believe everyone will pass the NY Rangers in the
NHL Standings? All he truly needs is Carolina in, so they can
instead catch Buffalo if needed. Hemsky will become something here
at the Deadline or before. This team can score but has been hit
with the injury bug. Making the playoffs isn't truly an issue with
Montreal (Marcel) facing a ton of work to avoid penalties up the ying,
yang (but there is the wild card in Toronto, Chad). Still love the
Philly flavor of Giroux and Carter, as long as Pronger doesn't pound the
shit out of Giroux, GM Andrew should have two stars for his Cup run. |

A very sweet gain in the CTR. This team will likely go higher when
Hemsky is replaced with anything useful. Never got his wish with
the big NHL Deadline Deal, so now has to do it manually. We love
how GM Andrew builds these solid teams and we come to expect it to
happen again. A Flyers run may already have his name on the Cup
and a rematch of last years finals will only make it easier.
Jokinen is a question mark for us, but not for GM Andrew who stated,
"The Sabres, Leafs and Canes will all pass the Rangers. Not
worried about that at all, as much as I am about maybe the Devils." |

1058 (H2 -
1655, L14 - 900) |
The worst appears to be in the past now for GM Andrew. A team that
can score like no other in the NHLP. These are exciting times for
GM Andrew with Hemsky sitting there, either as a non playoff headache,
or a playoff monster, depending on what happens by the NHL Trading
Deadline conclusion. This team's fate changes just that quickly.
Jokinen, Hossa and Campbell are flirting with non playoffs but all, and
all, we think things are going to work out here. This team will
likely even still be first in the North when Andrew starts the NHLP
Trading Deadline, where we all know, he will be heard from. |

Just as quickly as things turned for the best, they soured for the worse.
A season low CTR that was forced by Edler's huge loss (Edler here and
Malkin on his other team - not Andrew's season by any stretch). In came Hemsky, S. Kostitsyn and Campbell, two of the three not even rated.
Hopes are Hemsky is traded and we can easily see that happening as the
Oilers rebuild. Hossa and Campbell are playoff question marks, as Chicago has been
mediocre, losing game after game in the third period. That won't do it. Will Frolik be able to change
their season around? GM Andrew is hoping. Andrew will do anything he
has to do, anything at all, to get this team in the NHLP playoffs and
keep Carter and Giroux together. |

As expected Kane and Antropov were sent packing and although the NHLP
Yearbook expected GM Andrew to grab two Western players, he only added
Campbell. Jokinen and his scoring abilities were also brought in, and what a
difference he has made! Andrew's Hawks are the North's top scoring
team, with 63 in January, an ass-kicking 20 more than Buffalo (Joel)
scored who entered the month 15 points in front of Andrew. Giroux
and Carter lead this team and Hossa now has some playoff support from
teammate Campbell. Andrew is doing what he does in the second half
every year, slowly adding and improving, up 200 CTR points since last
rating. Expect the Hawks to be tough and continue to climb towards
the NHLP Trading Deadline, with Andrews philosophy that you don't have
to get it all, in one deal approach. Slow and steady wins the
race. (Update: A tough blow here as Edler has been announced
out for anywhere from 'weeks or months' which might even make things
harder to decide to keep him or move him. This team needed to stay
healthy, but now it is looking like February might be a tough go to
continue to pull away from 5th.) |

It is all built around the Flyers going to the finals here, and that
will not change this season no matter what. Andrew has said, "The
Flyers are the best in the East, no sense carrying any other Eastern
players." Andrew is doing just that, trying to hit the Flyers
matching up with his West players, right now from Chicago, Vancouver and
LA. "With the Waiver we want to likely add two more West players"
stated Andrew, referring to likely Kane and Antropov on the move with
the waiver. "Andrew went on to add that he'd love more GM's to add
him to BBM now that GM's Charlie, Jr and Scott have joined his service." |

GM Andrew did not hold back after the Winter Meeting, telling the
Yearbook that "I would have traded Hossa tonight had we all been
together." Andrew was not thrilled with the lack of communication
at the meeting but understood it was something we had to go through as a
group before we could pass judgment on if it could work of not.
Still sitting with a full set of hair Andrew still has many options.
"Hossa's best value for another GM was at the meeting" stated Andrew,
"As I knew they were healthy that night and would likely start to win
and move up the standings." Although this team has faded and has
dropped in the standings a long way since Andrew once declared "There is
nothing I can do there to make it better", we all now know that isn't
true. Expect this team to be battling down the stretch. |

1188 (H2 -
1655, L12 - 971) |
How quickly things can change! Adding two
Thrashers in a Waiver and getting Hossa back for a team of 7 playoff
players has hope again for GM Andrew. Adding to the good fortune,
Toronto (Chad) who is 13 points ahead in the North, lost Roy for the
season and has 3 players needing replacing worth about 75 points.
For Andrew, the New Year is looking better already. NEW YEAR'S
WISH: How easy is a Flyers Cup run with support from either
Chicago (Hossa), Vancouver (Edler) or LA (Stoll). The potential is
right there and Andrew has proven he knows how to work it, from here on
out. When you are trying for a 5th Cup and have this team, with
this potential, at this stage of the season, the rest of the league had
better pay attention. |

1147 (H2 -
1655, L12 - 971) |
Hossa has really hurt the teams scoring and GM Andrew finds himself
fallen to 5th, some 6 points out. A well balanced attack with 6
playoff players, not all is lost. The two Flyers remain building
blocks. Kovalev is a movable part of Ottawa's as Andrew is fully
aware. Already taking the heat for the teams struggles, Kovalew
will likely be dealt as he is an UFA, but with is scoring woes, he will
be hard to keep that long. Andrew has decisions to make as this
team free falls in the North. (“Ye’d
best start believin’ in ghost stories, Miss Turner. Yer in one” -

1399 (H2 -
1655, L12 - 971) |
The Flyers are the team here for GM Andrew. Continued to be led by
Giroux and Carter. Andrew has the top rated team outside the East and
West. Hossa will be back soon, but Chicago needs to win some
games, so Andrew has worth from him. Only Kovalev is not rated,
and position is very tight, being only 6 points clear of 5th in the
North. The CTR has dropped, but the team clearly remains, one of
the NHLP's best. |
20 |
2 |
1655 (L12 - 971) |
The best in the North Division, but not by much at all. This team
is really strong and for GM Andrew to actually say, "I don't think I can
improve this team right now" says exactly what we weren't thinking!!!
This team is strong, but hell yes, it can, even be better. A solid
position and top seeded players lead by Giroux, who was a drafted third
round gift...just good drafting by Andrew. The loan player not
rated is Kovalev. |
15 |
2 |
1563 (L12 - 971) |
The Flyers big jump have helped GM Andrew's CTR in a big way. Over
a 400 point jump and not letting up here. Only player not ranked
is Hossa as the Hawks sputter. Plenty enough scoring to stay in
front of the lowly 5th and 6th place teams in the North. We like
what we see. |
10 |
7 |
1108 (L12 - 971) |
The Hossa injury hasn't hurt this high scoring team just yet, so they
will likely weather it. The Flyers did improve their standings, as
did the Kings. Stoll is hot, hot, hot. |
5 |
12 |
971 |
GM Andrew finds himself in the top scoring Division, the North, so the
heat is on. Invested heavily in Philadelphia, the Flyers are
barely rated. Needs them to improve to move up. Hossa is
just wicked right now and Chicago can still improve their own seeding to
help out here. Kovalev has been a major bucket of shit, so watch
and see what Andrew tries to do early here. |
