GM Jr has not
made his intentions known, if he will be keeping Lilja, or moving him at
the Trading Deadline. Stay tune. |

This will be
hilarious. Wednesday at 2:30 PM, lets all tweet Lupul and say
something to the effect of "Welcome to Halifax, glad to have you as a
Destroyer." Imagine the poor fucker when he finds out he is still
really a Star come the end of the NHLP Trading Deadline! Cruel
joke to play, I know, but funny! |

If GM Jr could
have grabbed a 30 point deal for his San Jose boys, maybe he could have
made a charge. Not that Vancouver (Joel) still can't do it, but Jr
didn't when the waiver was available in the deal. A whopping 68
points back. |

This team was
never right since about game 10. The slide started early, and for
the second straight year, GM Jr could not right the ship after a slow
start to a team of his. Now 62 points out, after leaving it this
long, you just have to wonder what is the point of tying now? We
hammer GM's for not trying, but In all fairness to Jr, several GM's left
the Winter Meeting all stating Jr might have got the steal of the
meeting in Getzlaf. He did go for it. We all know how that
turned out, but not for lack of trying. Sometimes, it just doesn't
go right no matter how hard you try, and this might be an example of a
bad year, where everything just went to hell early and often. With
a coming Waiver, maybe Jr can grab a few picks, and Dallas can dream of
Cup 3 for 2012. |

A late
Christmas gift, of sorts, came to GM Jr in a big way at the conclusion
of the Winter Meeting. Jr was able to drop the injured Spezza,
along with Sullivan for the high-scoring, current playoff player,
Getzlaf. "Getzlaf was a great pick" stated several GM's.
Lilja who was the second player up, will be waiver material very soon
stated Muddy Capone, "Usually stay at home
defensemen, who have been a healthy scratch 10 of the past 22 games and
who only have 4 points, don't find themselves in the NHLP for
long." Being 26 points out of 4th, Jr won't find himself in the
race for a playoff spot for long either if he doesn't get busy, as he
does best, using the waiver wire for some big nightly gains down the
stretch. With three players totaling 15 points this team is a
great spot to shop for last minute stocking stuffers! (UPDATE:
After writing this, we just heard Getzlaf will be out for the month of
January. We hope he kept the receipt and can still return this
present?) |

Couture was a
great addition. Still too far back to make it in without some
aggressiveness in the form of waivers or deals. GM Jr knows how it
is done and seems to know when to strike. This team can take on
non playoff players, so watch out. Spezza is out the next 6 weeks
so instantly became a Minors deal at the Winter Meeting. NEW
YEAR'S WISH: Getting into the playoff and letting the Shark's take
it from there. |

Has two players
with a combined 1 point, so can easily take on the leagues worst bucket
of shit and go to the minors. That will likely have to be the case
as GM Jr is 15 out here in the South. Although a lot of fringe
players, only Spezza is unrated. Have a high playoff guy?

Dropping from
11 to 19 points out with 6 fringe/not rated players, the up coming
waiver should be interesting. Clearly this isn't a team going
anywhere as is. Expect something to happen. |

Spezza,
Pominville and Phaneuf not rated. Marleau, Sullivan and Legwand
are 8th seeds, at best. Gionta has 11 points in 21 games. GM
Jr's Stars are 11 points out of the playoffs. |

Now might be a
good time for another "Revamp". This team does not look or feel
like a GM Jr team, and we are certain by the end of the season it won't
look like this, but we have been wrong about things we have been more
sure of. Last season Jr got down here in the Rankings with Calgary
and could never right the ship. It isn't easy but all good GM's
know change seldom just occurs on it's own. Although 27 points
back of first place, this team is only eight back of 2nd, in the South.
That is the good news. The bad news is there isn't an abundance of
assets here. Spezza and Gionta are the only two rated players.
Nice to have Pominville back no doubt, but this team needs an
intervention, in the worse sort of way! |

Good thing GM
Jr's Stars only have to finish 4th to make the playoffs, for they are
already 23 out of 1st place in the South. Only 7 points out with
injuries a concern, the team just took a beating in the NHL standings
and CTR ranking. Three players teams drops seeds while only Gionta
was going the right way. Unfortunately, Gionta's scoring is
another issue, with only 3 points in 11 games. What is up there?
Nothing from Spezza and Pominville in the ratings and the later still
can't read at a grade 3 level (although he insists it is the pictures of
the frog and bunny giving him the problems). Things should get
better. |

Sullivan and
Legwand are making this team strong as Nashville is a top seed and
looking great. Phaneuf is doing his part while Spezza is scoring
but Ottawa is no where to be found in the NHL standings.
Pominville has not only yet to register a point, he still thinks he is
playing in Rochester. Jr is liking Pominville's Rochester numbers,
quite a bit, right about now. |
